Lawrence is a college town, and due to the large number of events (graduation, football games, basketball games etc.) there is a lot of demand and supply of lodging. Furthermore, our encuentro is during Spring Break, so there will be plenty of lodging available! Spring Hill Suites by Marriott
Immediately, adjacent to the venue and overlooking the Kansas River, Spring Hill Suites by Marriott offers convenient access to all the milongas as well as over 50 restaurants in downtown Lawrence.
We will have a block of rooms reserved for the Encuentro.
The early settlers in Lawrence had one intent – to make Kansas a Free State. The Eldridge Hotel was formerly named the Free State Hotel, completed in 1856, and was burned down in Quantrill’s Raid in 1867. The ghost of Colonel Eldridge is still rumored to wander the hallways.
